Healthcare, particularly in regards to mental health, can often be a difficult system to navigate. I strive to be a helpful and compassionate resource to children and their families to make navigating this system less challenging.
About me
Growing up, Ali always loved working with children, be it through babysitting or coaching her hometown’s summer recreation swim team. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from University of Redlands in Redlands, CA. For her senior capstone, Ali interned at the Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda, CA where she got her first glimpse into the ways programs can support families of children experiencing difficult times.
After graduation, Ali spent 4 years working with at-risk youth in a residential treatment facility where she held a variety of roles, the last being a Case Manager. In this small facility, she was able to work closely with and get to know the children and their families. It was an honor to play a small part in and witness the positive changes they made on their journeys towards healing.
After working in this residential care setting, Ali then joined PANW as a Medical Receptionist. If you have been a PANW patient the last few years, you have likely seen Ali’s friendly face at the front desk or heard her cheerful voice over the phone. She is excited to now support families in a more expanded capacity as one of PANW’s Family Support Specialists. Ali works in our Portland office and Beaverton office
Interests
Ali has always been an avid reader even from a young age. She rarely leaves home without a book (or her Kindle) in tow! When she’s not reading, she can often be found browsing local bookstores or choosing her next read. Ali’s idea of a perfect day is a book in her hand and nothing planned except reading it cover to cover.
Ali is also a big lover of music, collecting vinyl records, and attending concerts for her favorite artists. If there isn’t an upcoming concert on her calendar, there soon will be!
When Ali isn’t reading or listening to her favorite tunes, she enjoys getting outdoors for a hike. She feels fortunate to live in such a stunning place filled with trails. She loves waterfall hikes the most, her favorite in the area being Wahclella Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. Ali also likes to plan hikes while traveling, and see landscapes that are different from our forests. Some of her favorite hikes in other states include ones with cool rocks and cacti!
Family
Ali’s family is local to the PNW and the Portland-Metro area. She is the oldest of 3 children. Growing up, they were always at the pool, baseball field, or basketball court for a meet, game, or practice. She is thankful to her parents for always being their biggest fans. These days, you can find Ali and her family chatting about books or movies, attending a concert, or hiking together.
