Updated Masking Policy

Starting April 3, 2023, the Oregon Health Authority will no longer require individuals to wear masks in healthcare settings. This change is in response to recent data showing overall decreases in rates of flu, RSV, and COVID-19, after they surged last fall and overwhelmed our hospitals.

PANW is committed to protecting the health of our patients, their families, and our staff. With the end of mandatory masking in healthcare settings, Pediatric Associates of the Northwest will be using the following mask policy as of April 3rd:

  1. Anyone may choose to continue wearing a mask at any time. We will respect all those who choose to wear a mask.

 2. Patients with symptoms of infectious disease- including cough, sneezing, runny nose, congestion, sore throat, vomiting, and diarrhea – and their accompanying caregivers and/or family must mask while in the clinic if they are older than 2 years. If one person in a group has symptoms, all must mask please.

  3. Any patient may request PANW staff and providers with whom they come in contact to mask. Patients should make this request each time they visit the clinic.

Depending on the rates of infectious diseases in our community, such as COVID-19, RSV, and flu, we may change our masking policy in the future. If we have learned anything from the past few years, things are always changing. We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing more of our patients’ smiles in the office!
